Preserving Your Investment
Congratulations on acquiring a piece from the Michael Klinger Signature Line. Your artwork has been crafted using the world's finest archival materials. To ensure its brilliance and longevity for generations to come, please follow these specialized care guidelines.
1. Handling Your Artwork
Avoid Fingerprints: The surfaces of Acrylic and Metal prints are sensitive to natural oils from your skin. We recommend wearing clean, lint-free white cotton gloves whenever handling the art.
Lift by the Frame/Mount: Always support the artwork from the back or the mounting system. Avoid placing direct pressure on the face of the print.
2. Cleaning Instructions
For Acrylic Prints (Face-Mounted):
Dusting: Use a clean, dry, high-quality microfiber cloth to gently whisk away dust.
Wiping: If a deeper clean is needed, use a clean microfiber cloth slightly dampened with water or a specialized acrylic cleaner (such as Brillianize).
WARNING: Never use glass cleaners (like Windex), ammonia, or alcohol-based products. These will "craze" (create tiny cracks) or cloud the acrylic surface over time.
For Sublimated Metal Prints:
Dusting: Use a soft, non-abrasive cloth.
Wiping: Metal prints are highly durable and can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a drop of mild dish soap if necessary.
WARNING: Avoid using abrasive pads or scrubbing motions, as these can dull the high-gloss finish.
3. Display & Environment
Lighting: While our prints feature UV-protective layers, we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to direct, unfiltered sunlight to prevent color shifting over decades.
Climate Control: For optimal preservation, display your art in a controlled environment with a temperature between 60°F–75°F (15°C–24°C) and humidity levels between 40%–55%.
Heat Sources: Do not hang artwork directly above a fireplace or active heat vent.
4. Professional Installation
For large-format MK Signature Line pieces, we strongly recommend professional installation. Ensuring that all wall anchors are rated for at least double the weight of the artwork.
